Great Idea! I've converted this thread to that very topic. If everyone just posts the programmes/links/reviews we can clean it up periodically into a more cohesive list. Eventually that should make it on to the website, particularly because it will build itself.

Last time i checked TV's didn't have shoes. Anyhow, i saw Tony Blair on TV the other day, but that might be an insult to the snails...

David Attenboroughs' 'Life in the Undergrowth' has snails and slugs in it! And a film called 'Microcosmos' - a must see film in my opinion, beautifully shot.

I know this is an old thread, and I'm sorry in advance if it's going to bother people because I'm posting it in here, but I thought writing in here would be better than anything else. I found this video on youtube, and found it really interesting that snails can be affected by TTouch. It's a kind of massage use to relax animals and stuff. The links here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CocX5KR5APc&feature=related

Interesting that the snail responded in that fashion. I always assumed that TTouch was geared mostly for mammals who require affectionate touching in order to survive and thrive. Snails are born fully independent and not reliant on their parents to stay alive, but perhaps they have the capacity to respond to this kind of physical contact anyway. Thanks for the link.

Hi there, I have uploaded two movies. Both are in German, but you might enjoy the pictures anyway. Concerning the Swiss movie "The Discovery of Slowness" I was thinking of writing a synchronisation, only I do not yet know, how to do it. Die Entdeckung der Langsamkeit (The Discovery of Slowness): forum.molluscs.at/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=105. Galileo Weinbergschnecken (Galileo on Roman Snails) Movie still picture. forum.molluscs.at/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=146Galileo is a science show of the German broadcaster Pro7. When this movie was made, I was still in Vienna and had to answer very many questions on the phone (like 10 hours altogether), so this movie is VERY well researched . Note: The second part is on the preparation of snails as food; you might not want to watch this. But I might add that the movie ends well: The wild snail from the beginning survives and lives in a nice terrarium with some friends. Kind regards Robert PS: You can view those movies without registering in the forum.

youtu.be/Za_2JtGoSNkI used to love this TV program as a child! ;D The snail was called Mr. Harrison. He was my favourite character - loved his sarcasm! Does anyone know whether there is actually a breed of snail like him?

Pennyfarthing, I dont think there is such breed for the snail mentioned. If so, it would be difficult to determine what species it is since it is cartoon (ish)

I think you're right. I just wondered because I thought I saw a snail that looked similar once. I didn't get a close look though.
