Hello,
you may have seen me asking about keeping a fulica on his own, well i've decided to get a second to keep him company.
he's a sexually mature adult (with almost permanent visible proof of the fact) and i've been offered a baby to be his friend.
but before i accept i just want to check is that okay? or is it teasing the adult putting him in with a baby?
anyone got any idea? i want Isaac to have a friend but am only a newbie to keeping snails so want to make sure i'm doing the best i can.
cheers, Erica (and Isaac)

I have young ones in with adults and they're fine.
Just remember to look out for eggs when the baby gets bigger.

i'm more worried if it'll be a bit frustrating for the adult? or am i thinking too much?

I don't know if they can actually feel frustrated. I'd rather they were frustrated than mating though lol would save me egg checking all the time!!

thank you soooo much! i'm getting really excited and telling everyone Isaac's getting a girlfriend now!
reception at work thought i was a little mad when i told them what would be coming in the post, but they did like it when i commented it really would be 'snail mail' (i make no apology for my sense of humour)
does baby have a name yet? or will that be my first job?
thank you again e
ps. Isaac's looking forward to the new arrival too.
edit: and yes, she will be spoiled... my eating habits have improved no end since i've had to buy fresh food for Isaac, and i always buy so much i could feed the whole block of flats, never mind just me and my snail!

Newton? I like the idea but earlier i thought you said baby looked more like a girl snail? my workmates would be impressed at that as a name though!
thank you again. i really am getting excited - tonight i'm going to arrange my mini 'travelling tank' ready for the new arrival with a choice selection of my favourite fruit and veg to keep baby entertained whilst i'm at work.
i'm going to be sat in reception waiting for the postman... my boss won't be very happy with me! e
ps. did i say thank you?

Yep i think you are up to numer 57 on the Thank you stakes. I also want to thank you as it was a good practice run for posting snails.

I've already brought Isaac in to work twice (to different offices) because people have been so interested in seeing him, he even ended up in the paper after the first visit (I work for a local paper)
I'm more concerned my boss'll fuss because we've got a deadline at lunch time, but i'm looking forward to the post so much now that by tomorrow i'll be too excited to care about work!
roughly 14 hours to go...

i like that idea for a news story, might have to suggest it next time there's no news in my town (that'll be tomorrow then)
ooh, less than two hours to go... if i wasn't so tired i'd be bouncing off the walls in the office right now - whoever invented 8am starts was really evil.
oooh that's about 100mins i've got to wait for the postman. where's the calculator to work it out in seconds...
