Have you guys read this - its very interesting ;D
Someone took 20 baby margies and kept 10 in one tank and ten in another - they were treated exactly the same except one was given meat to eat as well as veg and the other just veg. The ones that were allowed to eat meat if they wanted to faired soo much better than the veggies, the meat eaters grew quicker and ate more cuttlefish compared to the veggies not touching the cuttle. Some of the veggies died but none of the meat eaters did.

Ooo, yes it would be interesting to know what kind of meat. Did the meat eaters get bigger aswell as growing faster?

Well the ones who didn't have meat didn't grow at all in the timescale of the experiment!! So yes, the meat eaters got bigger quicker. I'll ask for more details.

*covers the fish tanks* NO SNAILIES NO! Rofl *Has visions of them sitting on the lid with fishing rods* hahaha Hmm.. maybe I could stretch to letting them have some of my salmon....maybe not lol Would tinned tuna be ok?! I bought a tub of turtle stuff when I first started with the snailies lol. I read it was ok if you ran out of normal food.

Ooooooh I know is bloomin expensive. Get it off ebay in bulk lol much cheaper. And not all turtles just eat that, so that helps too lol.
Hmm I still have that vision of fishing snails...

This is interesting. Was the meat cooked or raw?
After reading this I gave mine the remnants of a chicken leg my sister cooked in some sort of orange and brandy sauce for dinner today!
They both examined it and the iredalei seemed to be nibbling for a while. I think the dimidiata ate a tiny bit.
I don't think I'll leave the leg in overnight. It will probably be full of bacteria by the morning.
