Hi guys, Well yesterday I bought 2 packets of dried baby meals. One is Boots own brand called "Organic Sweetcorn & Vegetables " and the other is Heinz "Summer Fruits". Today I mixed up a teas p o o n ful of the sweetcorn one to a smooth cream and the snails - particularly the bigger dimidiata LOVED it. Tomorrow I am going to try the summer fruits. I am also giving them the usual lettuce/cucumber in their tank. Isn't it strange how their 'poo' is the same colour as what they have eaten!! ;D

Do you want me to sit in the corner and rust, or just fall apart where I'm standing?

I hadn't noticed the pooh thing until tonight.... Apart from varying shades of green/white. Glad read your message though cos I've just woken everybody up to eat and the fulicas have nice pink and red pooh It would have worried me.... they had tomato last night hehe. ;D Fascinating.

baby meals sound a nice idea, as they would be void of all the unpleasant additives.. I assume that they are also lactose free? I know babies cant have cow's milk anyway. I would not want to risk feeding my snails dairy as i know that many humans are lactose intolerant and milk products certainly dont usually form a part of snails diets. I guess baby food would be quite expensive considering the amount of snails i have.. but it could be used as a treat!

Well I served up Heinz "summer fruits"...........and it was rejected totally by all but one dimidiata!! I noticed afterwards that it actually contains lemon juice so perhaps it was too 'sharp' for a snails tastebuds ;D The next thing on the list to try is babys rusks!! I will serve it softened with water, has lots of good things in it Val

Mine like beer ;D Don't have it often. I just coat foods in it to tempt snails that won't eat. My Brixtons had it on their food for a week or 2 to build them up. I used guiness and just a few drops Nat

I tried mine with beer ages ago, was the first lot I kept not the ones I have now, but they didn't seem that bothered by it. All the more for me! Baby food! I knew there was something else to try lol Is it only lactose/wheat and gluten the snails can't have?
