Well no veggies are high in fat are they?? Seeds can be of course, especially sunflower seeds.

Great I'll have fat snails this week then 'cause I've finally remembered to try the sunflower and pumpkin seeds lol How high would be too high though?

The dry foods are often more fattening than greens. So for example:oats,meal,flour,seeds...

I am asking because my snails that where/are sick only eat a couple of bites of cucumber a night (they won't eat anything else) and are just so skinny they look like a balloon that has had all the air sucked out of it. and i would like to see them with a bit more bulk, especially with the cold weather coming

Have you tried seeds before? If not then try the sunflower ones.

Sarah, have you got a heatmat on their tank? I find they eat much better if they are nice and warm. Have you tried chopping up sweetcorn so that the soft middle bits are exposed? Mine weren't eating it as a lump but now eat the little niblets chopped. Could also try cooked sweet potato, mashed up mine liked that or soft banana? Just ideas which I hope will help, the seeds might prove to be a bit hard for them. What about egg yolk?

Weight is gained through starchy foods carbs, sweet potato is high in starch, as is corn, any meal/seed/pulse based foods. Have never tried sweet potato before until someone suggested it for the iredalei, but its a starch rich food, so beneficial alongside vitamin rich greens?

Paul told me I could grind them up or soften them in water. So maybe if you did that it would make it easier for yours to eat them. I gave mine some unsquashed, de-shelled sunflower and pumpkin ones and they seemed fine with them (The baby Panthera really seemed to love them!) But as yours aren't well, squished ones would probably be easier Mine were bought from superdrug lol it was a packet of healthy eating ones. I should think pet shop sunflower seeds would be fine though. There shouldn't be any salt on them at a pet shop lol
