Sorry if there's another seed thread somewhere (I did see the sunflower one, but apart from that I've had guinness so please forgive this thread and any typos lol) I bought a pack of mixed seeds in superdrug. They're bringing in this whole new healthy eating range apparently. They were only 99p and I thought well if I can't give them to the snails then I can eat them lol. Just wanted to check that they are ok to give to the snails. It's sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and pine nuts. On the back it says: high in fibre, sodium and cholesterol free, contains immunity boosting: vit e, essential fatty acids and vit b, contains essential minerals: magnesium, zinc, iron and selenium and has no preservatives, additives or e numbers. So... that should be safe right? Also in the list of ingredient % things it has Niacin listed. Considering I sucked at science at school I have no idea what that is lol. They're ready to eat, all unshelled.

Pumpkin and Sunflower seeds are definitely fine, I use them often. Not sure about pine nuts. You'll need to grind or soften them by soaking in water. You can also get sunflower kernels for next to nothing, these are better, normal sunflowers seeds have a very tough coat on them.
Niacin is a source of vitamin B3 so it's fine.

Great thanks. Do you think the pine nuts will hurt them or just that they just might not like them? I'll see what I can find out about them. I don't actually know which ones they are in the pack either lol all I can see at the moment are the sunflower and pumpkin seeds!

Ok just a quick update. I tipped some out and finally found the pine nuts lol. Ate them myself though I put the sunflower and pumpkin seeds in whole (no smushing, soaking or anything) and they ate them fine I gave some to the baby margie and panthera to start with, and the panthera seemed to like them the most. I will be giving them to all my snails later though and will see who likes them the best lol.

And smaller seeds that are used for smaller birds like finches, canaries ( fringilidae lol) and so? I saw that have some hemp seeds in there. Should I grin it altogether and than add a bit of water to give to my GALS?
