Do snails get enough amount of calcium, when they just sit for long time on a chicken egg, cuttlefish or seashell? I know that they can absorve calcium by the foot, but when they don´t eat that much, and are a long time stood on a piece of calcium, that´s fine for them? Because not all of my snails eat a lot of calcium.... Thanks apple

As long as they have a healthy shellgrowth, thats fine. One of my Margies gets almost all of its calcium by absorption rather than actually eating it and still has good new shell growth.

I'm not sure, I was going to ask the same question a while ago. It would be interesting to know whether they get the same amount of calcium from doing this than eating the cuttlefish.
