I have been thinking about how to feed these little guys as naturally as possible. There has been success on dribbling liquidized food down the sides of the tank or on branches. But, it's not natural for them to eat liquidised food, is it. I am going to try several types of food, fruit and veg, and attach them to the tree branches. Maybe tie them on with thin bits of string. This seems a more natural way for them to eat. Does anyone know what is the food they eat in the wild? Is it fruits? If so, what kinds? Being tree dwellers, it must be a fruit they are used to, as veggies don't grow on trees. Or is it the leaves that they eat? One of ours was nibbling on the buds of the lemon tree we put in there yesterday, but didn't eat any leaves.

I don't know what food they eat in the wild, but I hang fruit (apple, pears, kiwi, melon, banana) up and they usually finish all the slices of apples (at least 3 pieces in there) and they nibbles other fruit. So far I have not bothered to put much veg in the tank. I also tried to give them sweet potatos and they tend to nibble a little but not a lot.

Thats what I figured, they will be fruit eaters, not vegetable eaters. Mine tried cucumber the first time I put it in, but after a bite or 2 they lost interest. My husband is making a feeding tree. Just a bamboo pole, with cross sections where we will hang the fruit. I have got them apples and pears to start with, as it's fruit that the other snails will eat.

mine have eaten pear, apple and they love cucumber. they have also eaten some banana are 1 is currently stuck to a piece of tomato.
What they did love were mosses and lichen that were on the bark i put in last summer, they stripped them bare! so this summer i will be doing the same.
