have been watching this thread 4 a while
its very interesting
i do not want to cause any offense but would like to ask a few questions please
if people r giving meat to snails eg beef and pork which i do not really think the snails would find in natural conditions
could this not cause sum probs
like getting to big to quickly ? or causing the heart liver etc etc to have to work to hard to quickly? in humans the wrong diet can cause a lot of stress to the body
i think if meat is offered it should be perhaps more like the protein these snails would meet in the wild .. worms, lavae, bugs, beetles etc ?
as i have already said please do not take offense at my questions .. just a tired mind wandering
still learning
thanks

Why would we take offense? It's a good question, any meat should be given in moderation.I don't know if carrion is a big part in a wild snails diet.I think they still are mainly plant and fruit feeders with the occasional carrion(maybe a dead snail). There's not really a huge size difference between our snails which are adults and the Brixton ones. The latter ones good simply be older.I agree with Copigeon that you should be very hygienic and careful if you give snails raw meat, personally I don't like the idea of having raw chicken lay overnight in a temp of about 28 C.

I agree with what you are saying about feeding them pork and beef etc as it is not a natural diet, although it is for some snails depending on were they live, abviously snails live everywhere i mean its not natural for a Helix aspersa to eat a Achatina Achatina, but if one were to die and i place it on my compost then wild snails do come along and eat it, just like in Africa there are farmers with Sheep and chickens, and although they aren't wild, there are strays and pets that die naturally and the snails will scavange.
But as well as that i have been thinking, would snails appreciate dead insects from the garden, like an insect mix, flies, grasshoppers..crickets..? If your pet fish were to die, could your snails have it for dinner?
As well as meat from supermarkets and processed stuff, why not give snails natural meats too?

Yes I agree that any meat fed should be in small quantities and probably only once or twice per week, veggies should definitely still be their main diet. I personally would not use chicken raw only cooked.
