I did a search but couldnt find any reference to whether GALS are okay with cooking oils.
Thinking of either sunflower or olive oil as a moistening agent for snail mix. Im assuming it would slow down the speed the mix "goes off" in a humid tank. Havent tried it yet incase iv missed something already posted.

I have always used a small amount of olive oil rubbed onto my snails' shells - keeps them from going dry - haven't had any probs though I appreciate that is different from adding it to food they seem to crawl over each other without any ill effects .....

I'd use water personally coz the constituent ingredients of the snail mix are extremely absorbant, you'd need a lot of oil and I can't imagine that being healthy for any animal. The various contents like hemp contain loads of natural oil, that's healthier than sunflower and vegetable oil so it's not like the snails are lacking something.
It may lengthen the mix's life in the tank, but I can't imagine by a lot unless you saturated it in it. Best thing to do with the mix is feed at night and in smallish amounts so it's gone by morning.
