Hi, A feed used by professional snail farmers comes from Berton at www.bertonalimentationanimale.fr/index.htm - they will send sacks through the post but they're 25g - although they are relatively cheap at around 10 euro per bag. They produce different varieties - its worth a look. Bill

I give all my snails a treat of snail mix. I dont know if the "need" it but the extra vitamins etc certainly cant do them any harm.
I make mine up - Busy bee today but there are various posts with idea on what to include

I don't think they need it. I only started feeding it to mine about a month ago - the Snail Trail variety, and I'm pretty sure their parents live entirely on fruit, veg and occasional bits of meat and brown bread.
You'll still need to feed them other stuff as well but I like to give them the snail mix just to make sure they're getting all the vitamins and things they need, and because they really seem to like it.

My mix which was adopted by invertsupplies when they were trading is:
40% Hemp 15% Calcium (Crushed Oyster Shell/Cuttlefish Bone) 15% Oats 10% Chicken Mash 10% Sunflower Kernels 10% Pumpkin Seed
Obviously I change it around a little.

I'm assuming you mean how do the percentages translate to real amounts rather than how I decided on the percentages...
A way to measure it is as follows:
4 cups/spoons Hemp 1.5 cups/spoons Calcium 1.5. cups/spoons Oats 1 cup/spoon Chicken Mash 1 cup/spoon Sunflower Kernels 1 cup/spoon Pumpkin Seed
or to make 1 kg at a time:
400g Hemp 150g Calcium 150g Oats 100g Chicken Mash 100g Sunflower Kernels 100g Pumpkin Seed
The percentages are just relative to each other. So if you only wanted 1 cups worth,
4/10ths of a cup of hemp 1½/10ths of a cup of calcium
...and so on.
Chicken mash is a food mix given to chickens. It contains various things but mostly cereals.

You can try in a natural food store, especially if they have bulk bins.
