Hi Val, These liitle guys seem very happy. Have read your previous posts regarding the babies. It does take a day or a few days for them to settle-in, but just look at them! They are fine! They are the brothers/sisters of my dimidiata snails. They are gorgeous, aren't they? You will be surprised how quickly they grow. Just like kids! Love Correne

Hi Val,
I have found coir in every pet-shop. My snails enjoy it. It's very easy to remove poo and uneaten food twice daily. Rinses off snails easily, also.
A Corrie Tip I remember the day we aquired our very first Giant African Land Snail. My son and I spent a whole afternoon trying to scrape off/chip coir from the block. I have had wrist surgery on both arms and subsequently have a very real weakness in both wrists. It was a nightmare. Next time, I just boiled the kettle and poured boiling water into a large bowl. Suspended coir brick into the hot water. So much easier! Simply allow to cool.
Have only been considering alternatives owing to the expense of coir. Now have seven tanks with various species of snail and replace the substrate weekly.
Am this damned close to jacking in my job and if I don't find another one will have to look at peat.
Love Correne

Do you want me to sit in the corner and rust, or just fall apart where I'm standing?
