Hi all. Today I went back to the nasty pet shop I got my first 2 fulica from... It was worse than before Bone dry again, NO food (or scraps from old food) NO cuttlefish, and a serious amount of empty shells and rotting snails I got the 3 that woke up (if I had the space I'd take the lot but I dont) Here are the 3 I got... the middle 1 Anjie is having btw One of the 1s I am keeping (the one on the right in above pic) had rather a nasty break on the tip of his shell. This is how it was when I brought him home. After a very good wash.... Mummy fixed him ;D He now also has varnish over the plaster. I will try to get a better picture of that tomorrow in natural light cos the flash is just reflecting on the white. Last one... This is one of the fulica I got 3 weeks ago from the same shop, and the 1 with broken shell. See the difference when they actually get fed. (They were all the same size-ish) Nat

Have you told the pet shop what you think of them? I would've sworn the place down at the top of my voice. Maybe they just have no clue that they're doing anything wrong. Prehaps you could talk to them and give them a care sheet, then if they don't change it there must be someone you can report them to. What about the RSPCA? I think we should make it one of the aims of the Society to stop this kind of thing. Especially seeing as even the RSPCA doesn't seem interested (if they were pet shops wouldn't treat them like this in the first place). Btw, Nat, your a saint for rescuing them. I hope they are soon feeling better.

Thing is they don't seem to be a bad shop in general. They sell loads of different animals, fish and reptiles and everything else looks well kept. I get the feeling they simply don't want to sell them so are letting them starve... but then they would be out the back? ... I did make a few comments, I'm not one for spouting off in public though. As for the care sheet I got one They just don't follow it themselves. Jas spoke to a bloke from rspca and told them, but the rspca are as bad when it comes to snails, and alot of other animals in my experience. Least I have saved 5 now. Better than none at all. I don't think there were many others to take anyway

Oh ok. It just pi*ses me off. If someone walked into a petshop and there were a load of cute, fluffy bunnys being kept with no food/ water and half of them were dead the place would be made to change or shut down if they didn't, the RSPCA would care then. What did the RSPCA say when Jas spoke to them?

I know, it annoys me too and if I knew I could do something I would. Its frustrating seeing it, I seriously could have cried. I was only going to get 2, 1 for me and 1 for anjie. But when the 3 woke up I couldn't leave one there. The bloke Jas spoke to said 'he'd make a note and look into it' In other words FFS their snails who cares We do have to do something, I just don't know what If the rspca don't do anything theres not much higher we can go. Unless we can get ourselves registered somehow, not sure how to go about that though, maybe when we are a registered society? Nat god lol yeah right and snail shell repairer

Well, I was thinking, there are 64 members on this site so if we get as many people to complain to the RSPCA as possible and keep complaining they'll have to do something won't they? LOl. I like to make a nuissance of myself.
