Archachatina puylaerti
Do you want me to sit in the corner and rust, or just fall apart where I'm standing?

I have found very little information on this snail...Only that it comes from Senegal...Heres a link to a shell, it wont let me copy and paste the image. www.femorale.com.br/shellphotos/detail.asp?species=Achatina+fulgurata+(Pfeiffer%2C+1853)*Copy and paste whole link* I cant find any pictures of alive fulgurata, only of they're shells, so my guess is that they are a very rare species in captivity, they will probably be available eventually though, many snails are becoming more available ive noticed.

The trouble is, we don't even know what names are taxonomically up-to-date. What is interesting is that fulgurata seem to be the only Achatininae we know about with a non-truncated columella. So they should be easy to ID if anyone ever got one.

Ok please ease my brain ache.... "non-truncated columella" ?? I have looked at the fulgurata pic, compared to others to try and see what it is, but can't see. Thank you Nat

well fulgurata's columella is really straight. other achatina's are not. I'm not bothered to explain it in a more elegant way.
kind regards
