Likely they will hatch. There are rare cases of snails self fertilizing, but it's likely that Norman stored sperm from mating before you first found him. Keep the eggs under wet soil and they'll likely hatch in the next 2-5 weeks.

A water dish in a tank should be shallow to prevent the possibility of drowning. However it's mainly a risk for baby snails, an adult snail is unlikely to drown in a small water dish.

Hi I recently acquired a mystery snail and he does this weird thing where he pops his head in and out of his shell really fast, then stops, then starts again. He looks like he's hyperventilating! His tank is fine (calcium, pH, temp, etc). I can't find what this means on Google, if anything?

Hi! I am interested to keep a garden snail but I don't know if it's wise to keep one off the streets? I see many snails along the pathways every time I return home but I am not sure about the hygienic conditions of snails along the streets. Or should I get a snail from an actual owner? Please advise; thanks!

Prieeze, I have 4 snails which I got outdoors. 2 Helix aspersa, 1 Cepaea nemoralis and 1 Clausilia. The 2 Helix aspersa have had babies in the meanwhile. I do have heard that snails from outdoors kan have certain diseases that can infect humans. But I have my snails now for months and have not noticed anything. Of course it is wise to wash your hands every time you handled them, which is only normal I think. And I think that as long as you wash your hands, nnothing bad can happen. Of course if you are afraid of it, you can get a snail from an owner, but then you have to make sure they are bred with the owner and don't come from outdoors either. Anyhow, according to me, you don't have anything to worry about with an outdoors snail.
