I doubt the west african distribution.Immaculata(panthera) is an east african species,so it's possible they live in Madagaskar as well.

It's quite possible they have been spread around by humans, but also, it may be that they were sent to him from there but not caught there. I can't find any mention of West Africa in all the records of all the historic synonyms. It's not completely impossible though.

I was reading in METRO about how a little Balea snail from europe went all the way to this random island in the south atlantic. it was so cute ;D

they cud have been carried by air if they attached to a leaf or something but theyre a bit big...
