Can anyone tell me if the two tone/dimi/whatever you want to call them health problems are shared with the other "types" of immacs? It's just I'd really like some immacs or pantheras at some point but don't want to pick another type known for having the same problems. Is it specifically a "dimi" problem?

I'm having *similar* problems with normal immaculata and brown panthera. they're not growing at all and one is terribly retracted, its very sad.
but some people have great experiences with panthera.

Ive had success keeping different types of immac's, Ive also had some "problem" ones, that havent grown, and later died, 1 two-tone, 3 "striped", 1 light-brown and 1 darker brown, out of about 20 altogether of the types I keep, despite them all having the same conditions, the others have all grown ok to very well, the ones that died didnt grow well, or at all.

Thanks Kevin. That rules out the lot then. That's a shame. Im sorry thats just my experience with them, you may have better luck if you kept the different coloured immacs. Or they may just have a high mortality with only a few surviving, or suffering no problems for some reason? smithii are very nice though, they're my favourite species, in my experience they grow very well, 4 of mine Ive had since they were about 1cm, they are now around 7-8cm and have very nice shells, I would recommend them if you wanted to keep more species.

Thanks both of you. I don't want to risk another Justin, so I'll steer clear with the immacs/pantheras (to spare kids feelings and mine, no offence to those who are braver than me *lol*). Yeah smithis are lovely - I'm yet to meet one in the flesh, so forgive my ignorance on this - how different are they to fulicas? They look quite similar in photos, but that's not a down side because I love my fulicas *lol*.

My panthera is great. He's grown well and eats like a trouper But I totally understand you not wanting to risk it. My smithii have been the same, grown well and they eat like troupers. I'm starting to like them more and more lol (I liked them anyway, but... yeah lol) They have gorgeous shells and are just all round "happy chappies" lol They don't look anything like my fulica though lol. They're much smaller than them at the moment (they're still bubbies), but I have pics of my fulica at around the same size and they're totally different. But yeah we all know how much they can vary, so that just shows it even more lol
