i have been offered some for 12.00 each but dont know what i will get if i bye them i dont want to end up with achatina fulica, i hoped someone else would know before i get them

i cant they are selling them at mark is selling them at dartfrog.co.uk but there are no pics i emailed him and he told me what he can get to order

people just put achatina sp, when they don't know the name, just be careful you could be spending lots of money on just fulica

The bottom one looks like a margie to me. Dunno about top one

That's odd, the first picture is a picture of one of Timm Adam's snails, I had some correspondence with him about that exact snail and the upshot was that we think it is an immaculata or what would have been called a panthera. It has all the traits but without inspecting the shell under magnification, I couldn't be sure. So, if they are selling that species, and it isn't just a picture cribbed because they look similar, they're not West African. They are East African in origin but have spread down the east coast to South Africa.

Yeah the top pic is an immaculata sp, and the bottom a marginata, probably ovum

he said thats the pics his supplier sent him of the snails, i thought the bottom one was a margie but the top one looked a bit rough, his shell i mean ,and i dont think he really knows what he is selling,if he has cribbed the pics i am no better of knowing what i will get i think i will give it a miss lol

Yes they have taken the pictures from somewhere else. I hate it when people do that. I wouldn't bother with them.
