Should Achatina fulica rodatzi be kept the same as "normal" fulica? I have a pair that are about 7cm shell length and I am about to move them from there storage tub into a 28"x28"x18" custom built viv but I need more info on there habitat. I believe fulica like drier conditions that margies for example? If so, how much drier?
If anyone has any info please post it here.
Regards,
Brian ;D

Aren't rodatzi just the albino shelled version of fulica, then they should have the same conditions and shouldn't have any problem living together either

they like it damp but not wet, erm...warm but not hot, lol basically i think like room temp, they can adapt to wetter, warmer conditions but i don't think they prefere it...

My fulica love it now it's warmer. They were being kept at 24 and below, but now it's 26 they're much more active (And I have to keep picking out the eggs to prove it lol). I spray them every other day or so. The moss stays wet, but you can't get water out of it unless you squeeze really really hard so it's not soaking like the margies have it. My rodatzi are in another tank which is kept a bit wetter but they don't seem to mind. It's kept at the same temp though.

Deadmansfinger, what substrate are you using. I find my fulica and my rodatzi prefer coir blocks opposed to compost. It keeps its moisture for longer than compost and it's easier to burrow into. A good spray everyday and fresh food, as well as the wonderful warmer weather we are having are the much prefered conditions for all my snails really.

i breed Rodatzi's and find they like a temp of between 20-25 degrees and they like the substrate to be just moist but not wet. when im hatching eggs i always have a heat mat on the tank and run the tank at approx 24-25,no lower, this way i have a great hatch rate,i'll also run the tank at this temp until they're about 2 months old. i dont use a heat mat with the adults as i have a reasonably warm house anyway.

Heya, sorry this is an old thread, I just thought it best to post in this thread rather than make a brand new one taking up more room and then it have to be moved into here.
I have 5 fulicas and recently bought 2 baby rodatzis. I also have 2 baby albino's of which I am unsure whether they are Jade's or Jadatzis.
Just wanted to check to see if these could all be housed together? Do they like the same conditions? and I also wanted to know what babies I will get if I will breed them together?

You can take togheter your snails; the fulicas like 24 degrees of temperature and 70-80% of humidity... they are very easy to keep For the baby albinos, if they have a light shell, they are Jadatzi, if they have a dark shell they are WJ. If you breed them togheter you will a genetically-mixed specimens... i don't recommend to do it because this can a lot of confusion... for example, you can have some snails ugual to normal fulica but when they breed, the sons will be jadatzi or white jade or wild type.... I hope my english isn't too bad and you can understand what i said:P

Haha, thanks for all of that. Glad that I keep them all together, means I can get a better viv when they are all a lot bigger. The albinos that I have, have quite light shells, but they look exactly like pictures of WJ's that I have seen, hence the confusion. I guess I will just wait and see when they get bigger! Ahhh Sucks about not being able to breed them all together, I guess that if I want babies, I will just have to seperate them all for a while so that I know for sure who is having babies with who, etc. And looks like I am going to have to do a lot more egg clearing out in the future :'D hehe. Does anyone have any more information/care sheets on the Rodatzi's? I want to make them as comfortable in their new home as possible, and can't really seem to find any information on them at all! Thanks again Acha-Roby!
