Do the Lignus eat cuttlefish? I forgot to put one in their tank If they do need it where do you other lignus owners put the cuttlefish? On the floor of the tank or fix it 'up a tree' ;D Val

I hang half of the cuttlefish on the tree branch and left the other half on the "floor". I soaked them in the warm water for some times and make them soft vefore putting them in, my lignus have eaten quite a bit, in fact it's nearly down to the hard part and it's only within 3 weeks of time. So yes, mine eat them. I have not tried "spoon" the cuttlefish off as Paul suggested since mine are eaten them anyway.

I leave the cuttle on the bottom of the tank next to their water bowl. I put the cucumber, green side up, on top of the cuttle, so the cuttle acts like thier food dish. They sit on the cuttle while they eat, so I figured they are absorbing some calcium as they eat. Then they will have a little nibble of cuttle while they are there. I also spray the cuttle 2 or 3 times a day, they seem to prefer it wet and they eat more of it that way.

mine have never touched the cuttlefish since I got them. They only seem to eat food that is in the "trees" and I have never saw them on the ground of the tank. I spray them with liquid calcium so hopefully this is sufficient and sometimes roll there food in grated cuttlefish which they seem happy to eat.

I tried food in the tree, but they ignored it. Weird how everybodies seem to like it different.

Thanks for your help guys, I think I will put one piece on the ground and the other 'in the trees' It sure is strange the way they act differently in different peoples tanks, spraying them with calcium is a good idea as well, I never thought of that. Thanks again.
