I've been racking my brains for days over these parasites, it takes a long time for me to remember things........snail speed!!! I knew I'd heard of something natural that helped cure worms in humans........just now while cutting a melon I remembered........Pumpkin seeds! I've just done a search and it's true ;D There are lots of references to it. So if the snails will eat them maybe they will help them too! Here's a few links to get you started: www.health4youonline.com/health_article_pumpkins.htmThis person treated his fish! members.aol.com/powerfulpumpkins/www.genhealth.com/pumpkin_seed.htmJust found this too on alternative de-wormers for farm animals! www.abdn.ac.uk/organic/organic_14c.phpI haven't time to read through the links properly, but hope there is something there to help. I've had a look through all those articles and I did some more research and it does seem to be worth a go. So I've just bought and ground some and fed it to my tigers. Two of them are still eating it now, one didn't seem that interested.
I keep you posted on results, so far I haven't found any worms or parasites so if they pass some now, I think we can be reasonably confident that it is the pumpkin seeds.
Even if it doesn't get rid of them all, a regular dose as we discussed in another thread should help limit them and that can't be bad.

I'm giving it a try too Paul. You never know if they have worms until they pass one and none of mine have - that i can see lol. So i'm feeding pumpkin seeds as precautionary measure.

Are there any other known treatments or remedies for treating worms?
My zanzibarica Peebee gets them really bad, and he's the only one in the tank that turns down the pumkin seed, even made into a paste (typical)...
I've tried cleaning the tank more often, and isolating him but the problem seems persistent ): any advice?
