I just wanted to state explicitly that this forum can't possibly vet any of the classifieds or referee in disputes between buyer and seller. This section is purely for those brave enough to use it.
In the past, arguments and censorship have got us exactly nowhere and long drawn out disputes on the board almost sank this forum.
We took the classifieds away but that didn't work out either so we eventually decided to allow them but to take a step back.
If you get scammed and feel the need to warn people, do so, but please note that offensive and/or ridiculous lengthy tirades will simply be deleted. There's no way for us to know who is telling the truth or what really happened so we won't try. It's best to rely on the fact that over time, bad sellers or scammers become apparent. If you really feel the need to vent your frustration start your own blog...
If you aren't happy with that level of risk, I suggest you use ebay or similar auction sites instead. They have a more thorough complaints and refund procedures, they get paid for maintaining those and they have more time. If you don't trust a seller, you could ask them to do you a listing on ebay.
I haven't been around much lately but I trust so far things have been friendly, as this board is 99.9% of the time. It's a shame the periodic 0.1% can cause so much trouble. Ah well...
I thought there was already a sticky here to explain all that so this is me just adding one for future reference.
thanks!
