Here's an interesting picture from my friend Ivan who lives in South Africa. It is a rare albino-bodied Achatina zebra (Bruguiere, 1792) that he found near East London in the Eastern Cape Area. He said he released this snail in his garden in the hope it would crossbreed with the normal A. zebra population ! Photo courtesy Ivan Hartwell
Wow thanks to your friend for taking the photo and thank you for posting the picture. This is a species rarely seen by the rest of the world, but at one time was on the wish lists of quite a few... but I think they became hard to export and pretty difficult to keep. To see an albino is wonderful Thank you!
