Ok so, the second Snail Art Competition of 2006 is upon us now! lol, This thread is to post your entries on. How it shall work:
Each individual can submit only ONE piece of art.
You are not allowed to enter other people’s art work, only your own can be accepted.
You will have a period of 2 weeks to submit your entries on this thread. You will then have until 1st July to submit your entries. On 2nd July your time to vote will begin, this will be a duration of 2 weeks. Then the winner can be announced! If anyone has any further questions then don't hesitate to ask either myself or Sonicsnail, or post on this thread. To vote you simply message (PM) me with your votes.
Please take time to read the rules for this competition:
Well, no entries yet so far lol. I was just going to say, that last time we did the Snail Art Competition, we struggled to get many entries. For this comp. to go on, we really do need as many people to participate as possible. I can understand that it takes time to complete entries. It would be helpful if I can just have a "show of hands" on who is planning on entering. It would be nice to see more people entering this time. Of course, you do not need to be an "artist" to enter. Everyone has an equal chance of winning. Of course, it's all about having fun, to enjoy this competition.

I had a beautiful drawing to enter...but...it kinda got ruined...and never finished. I could try to pull something together, I adore art...I guess ive been distracted with my move and all the baby critters and Bo and all. I'll try ok? Dang...if only I was already in Scotland, I would be so happy and relaxed I could create something amazing.
Well, looks like this hasn't been so much of a success. Oh well... I hope next time the Snail Art Copetition runs that there's going to be some entries. Otherwise, I can't see the point in doing it any longer.

Please don't end the art competition!...who knows, in time more artistic members could join. I know in the future I will want to enter, especially when I actually have snails in my care to inspire artwork.

I personaly think two months is brilliant. Darn us artists, we need to be [glow=green,2,300]inspired[/glow] first. THEN we need to choose our media, THEN get supplies, THEN sit on out bottoms and get [glow=green,2,300]inspired[/glow] again. Then work work work until it's JUUUST right, THEN we mess it up and do it all over again until it's right, THEN...we realize we missed the deadline. Ahhh...the life of an artist.
Seriously though, sense it takes longer to make art vs. snapping pictures, I think an extended deadlines is a fab idea. The trick is making sure everyone doesen't forget, however, it gives more time for more entries. Way to go Arno!
Like I said, when I move to Scotland i'll have LOADS of time on my hands to do all sorts of neat snail art. Especially having my wee snails FINALLY to inspire me! ;D
Yeah, I can understand that not everyone has the time to produce such pieces of art. I myself know exactly that. I've just spent about 150 hours on one painting. So, yes maybe every two months would be best. We will see how it goes from there.
