OMG, today I was introduced to a lady that had 10 very nice well kept adult fulica in a huge tank about 6 foot long, really fantastic set up, obviously very well looked after, but a new addition, she knew nothing about snail eggs, breeding etc, a quick trawl of her tank brought up nearly a thousand eggs!!!!!!!! they must of been holding onto them until the conditions were right, needless to say her freezer now has a large tub full!!!! imagine those hatching!!! That was good that you found the eggs betime. How do you manage all these snails in the snails rescue? I think, there are main fulicas or?
I always think: Wow, how many boxes must there be? :-)
In Germany we have more and more unwanted fulica babies, too. People often don`t think about the enormous reproduction rate of fulicas.
Animal shelters are often overstrained with exotic pets.
It`s very good, that here are people, who care for such snails.

Thought I would let you all know, I have succesfully just finished rehoming the first 40 snails that snail rescue had given to them from different sources, all via the website, none had to be put out to pet shops or ebay!!! cool it works.

Sorry Tanja missed your post earlier, yes all of these were fulica, and at present I have 8 tanks set up ready to receive unwanted snails, all are heated and lit and the programme is working well at present, so far (fingers crossed) I havnt come accross any real problems. But now I have said that Im sure something will come along LOL Ellis
