Hi there, I'd like to notify you that my page on door snails ( Clausiliidae) has been completely reviewed. Possibly you would like to read it in the English edition on www.weichtiere.at/Mollusks/Schnecken/land/clausiliidae.htmlAny errors you find, please be so kind as to tell me; wrote the page during night shift, probably mixed my English up a bit... ;D Regards Robert

I guess that the snails that I caught somedays ago in the bark of cork oak tree are like these ones. Nice webpage btw.

Hi there, thank you for the kind comment. The fabulous Clausilia (actually Balea) pictures on the page, however, were taken from the Czech homepage www.biolib.cz - Jirí Novák kindly allowed me to use them, as my camera wouldn't manage. I can only recommend a visit of the above site: Here's the entry point on snails: www.biolib.cz/en/taxon/id2442. Balea biplicata, by Jirí Novák, original on biolib.cz.

There are here some Balea species and as the webpage says Clausiliidae are found in many different countries. The specimens that I found here are juveniles so I don´t know exactly to which specie they belong. Very nice picture btw.
