Is there something wrong with the post count on here? Or am I missing something? It seems to me totally random whether the forum actually gives you a point or not when you make a post. Though I've now made 3 posts (this is my 4th) I only have 1 on my count. I'm not bothered by how many I actually have because it's just a number of course... but I'm confused and would like to be able to stop scratching my head

Hang on - I checked the Member Rank post and it says there that some forums are exempt from post count. (That'll teach me to post before I read.) But, so this thread isn't pointless, may I just ask why this is so? I don't understand why the forums listed don't count towards your post count as they seem to me quite valuable boards of forum contribution. *ponders*

Basically post count should show experience and not how often you are around. Post counts have been removed from certain sections such as 'pictures' as it wouldn't be fair for people to gain a post if they simply post lots and lots of pictures without actually contributing anything valuable to the forum.
In all honesty it makes no difference at all and I don't really see the point in it at all. Some people who have a post count of thousands can have that by adding comments like "lol", "nice" or "i agree" for example to others threads whereas some people with very few posts might have added much more valuable information to the forum.
So don't get too hung up on post counts, it really doesn't mean much at all.
Hope this helps,.
Brian.

Yeah I was wondering about that too... but ah well. Thanks for the help Brian.

no its sertan areas that the posts dont count So you just decide to post 5 times in a row on the same thread Yeah. The sections where you can actually contribute measure post count. Spamyness does not gain your respect around here.
