You see under your name it says Lissachatina panthera? Well it used to say either new member/ junior member/ senior member and so on. Now its done by the name of your snail getting rarer. So a new member is now a lissachatina fulica.

Yep But Its Not Really Like Trying To Aim To Get So Many Stars It Wont Make You Popular Or Anything  And Plus People Will Actually Get Annoyed With You If You Post Things One After Another Even Though There Is A Modify Button .. Just Pointing Out

PHEW !!! Going to wear my fingers out before I get to be a tincta. How about getting rid of A.smithii and changing it to A. tincta? I could live with that. I searched the Forum, there is not one post about smithii. On the homepage there is just "* No information yet. Just a shell picture." and a photo of a decrepid, non-descript shell. www.petsnails.co.uk/species/achatina-smithii.html#startGoogle smithii and you won't get much more. The "bible of Achatina species", Bequaert 1950:13 states "position doubtful", i.e. its is probably not a valid species. If it not too much hassle I'd say get rid of smithii and go for tincta. Its a valid and beautiful species ! |
