I'm confused. Whose snails aren't stuhlmanni? I was talking about stuhlmanni in general, they are listed on PetSnails main site, and on Achatinidae (sp?), and are nothing like immacs. That was what I was talking about. I wasn't for one minute suggesting my dimis were stuhlmanni so dont know whose snails you're on about! I never said stuhlmanni are immaculata. I just said that the ones's people have in captivity as stuhlmanni are actually immaculata. Mike, I'd be careful going off those one's on Achatinidae.com. I know Raphael got some of these "stuhlmanni" so perhaps the ones on that page are those.

No, you said: You didn't say what snails you were referring to as "they" - hence it being rather confusing. I also made a mistake though - I said the ones I saw on achatinadae.com. I meant Yori's site, they're definitely not immac-a-likes, considering their shell is completely different. I dont know about other folks, but all this chopping and changing is getting very confusing.

So is that not a "real" one? And I guess russian folks get their snails much similar to the way we do. I sense a small amount of tension there, is this "russian man" not to be relied upon?

You didn't say what snails you were referring to as "they" - hence it being rather confusing. I actually said... note the quotes.... and the page explains it all, that's why I didn't say any more, as we were referring to the variants listed on the page. Also, there are quite a few real stuhlmanni pics that look very like this small form, Yuri's are actually quite different to the wild-caught pics so I wouldn't necessarily go off that one as typical.

It would have made more sense had you said "the snails we keep are not stuhlmanni". Or the snails that many assume are stuhlmanni are not stuhlmanni. If you get me. Rather than just "they". It was very confusing considering I wasn't talking about the webpage, but stuhlmanni in general. Which are still nothing like immacs *lol*
It's confusing enough having all these change arounds, without just referring to things as "they", I dont know which way my head's spinning now....

Its hard work all this, I try to make my explanations as explicit as I can but things do get misunderstood. And the thread is actually about immaculata. That's why I made the page to save me the bother ;D
All I was saying about stuhlmanni is that they the majority of shells I have seen do look like the small, slender immaculata var. "panthera" so the mistake is understandable, although Yuri's doesn't. Due to variable shell shapes it would take inspection under magnifying glass (10x) to determine between them unless we find out about another, more obvious way of doing it.
