Chilean roses are actually really calm spiders usually I have a huge spider phobia, but for some reason that doesn't include tarantulas, I see them as 8 legged hamsters. Actually no, that's not fair on the spider, cos hamsters are much more likely to bite you (cant stand them) *lol* We (well, hubby when we first met) used to have a red rump, now that was vicious But I've never held one to be honest, but I think I could - as I think they're beautiful - especially these ones...(looks like those glove puppets you used to be able to get!)... www.bighairyspiders.com/pix/tick10.jpg

same here, i hate small spiders like house spiders, but i love turantulas, probably because they don't shoot across the lounge floor when you least expect it, lol yeah they do flick hairs which irritate the skin, the best thing to do in that situation i find is get some sellotape and get them out that way :-)

I hate house spiders that appear on the wall just as your watching a scary film lol. Big spiders like tarantulas are ok, at least you can see where they are.
