They will do the rubbing on your finger until they realize they cant eat you. Snails forget. And snails think slow. It can take some months for them to stop.

Snails will "nuzzle" during the courtship process. I think it's safe to assume that nuzzling is done differently than eating-related rasping.
Recently I observed my milk snail nuzzling my huge aspersa's head. It led me to wonder if that might be a prelude to maing, but I didn't want to stay up all night watching for something that was unlikely to happen.
ETA: Although if I find tiny hybrid milk / garden snails crawling about in the tank in the next few weeks, I'll know I was wrong! ;D

lol watch the breeding/new species space then lol
there is no risk of a Margi & a Fuli mating is there !! lol i hope velma doesnt feel like a 3rd wheel when shaggy & scooby are "at it" lol

They wont. its not even the same sub species of snails. As making it biologically impossible

Hi Donut,
Thanks for your PM, sorry I haven't replied before, haven't been on the forum for quite a while! So pleased to hear Velma is getting on well, she was such a friendly snail! As for size, she will probably get VERY big, one of her siblings from an earlier egg batch is now more or less fully grown at nearly 18cm! Some of my snails do the rasping thing on my hand when I'm holding them, Velma's brothers and sisters in particular (a family trait?!), I just move their mouths a bit if they keep scraping in the same place for too long, it does feel quite weird!
