Ok, call me slightly weird but when i was in the shower, i was thinking about how much my albino reti, Phantom, enjoyed bathing in the water running from the warm tap!
The following day, i rinsed the soap dish in the shower and let Phantom sit on there whilst i was showering! She seemed to love the warm spray and humidity coming from the shower and craned her neck right out tryin to reach the shower water itself!!
Seeing as it was such a big hit, it is now a daily occurence that Phantom comes and sits on the soapdish while im in the shower!!
When i got my new fulica, Whisper, i tried her out as well and the water proved to also be a great hit!!! As soon as I can, i'll try and get some piccies of them in the shower as its so funny to watch and they seem to really enjoy it!!

sorry i meant i dont feel safe holding them over a metal sink any more (Velma is bigger than the palm of my hand & wont sit still & im always worried she will fall off my hand) i GOTTA get a pic up of her & my other 2 love a shower so much tat they "run" haha around under the water & again i feel like im gonna drop them - much safer for them to be on the bottom of the bath & me use both hands to shower them bit of a bummer tho my shower nosel is stuck on high pressure SO i cant shower the snails OR the kids til i get a new nosel GRRRR

I give my 2 snails Tiger and Jade a shower under the warm tap (making sure it doesnt get too hot) and nothing gets them to come out of their shells quicker.............EVEN FOOD!!

Mine love water, but they prefer to go in the warm watered pond, in their tank, than get water thrown over them, although, earwig, he seems to like it more.

I would be so terrified of stepping on mine in my shower But they do love to play in the bath under the running shower... When they get their new home they will have a nice long shower first, and then a polish ;D

Being new, this was the first thread that really caught my eye. I read it and immediately took my three Aspersas ( Flip-Flop, Slippy, and Junior) and put them on the counter in their bowl when i took a shower... They loved it!! In all my LIFE I have never seen snails move around so quickly!!! I think that Junior is getting a treat (shower) tonight...

I think my boyfriend would kill me if I put mine in the shower. Only reason he puts up with them being out of the tank at all is I promised they don't touch anything he would (except me of course). Not entirely true since they have been known to escape from their bath (an ice cream tub), but he doesn't need to know that. ;D
I might have to try and rig up some kind of shower arrangement for my new guys when they get here. Maybe warm water in their spray bottle would work. I don't think they'd like our shower anyway, it'd drench them.

I have small snails (aspersas, milk snails, etc) and I do not try to shower them. I think they are just too small. They all retract when I mist the tank, so I'm thinking they really don't like falling water anyway. (They like humidity, but not actual falling water.)

I always see lots of garden snails come out after the rain, but I never see them out and about while it's raining. They stay under cover.

I've been taking my garden snails into the shower for about a year, the mature ones anyway. Quite easy keeping him away from shampoo etc as there's a raised lip around the base of the shower interior. If in doubt I put them on the tiled wall, but when I'm done using chemicals on myself I let them go under the edge of the shower spray. I also take them in when I have a bath, but put them either in the sink or on the edge of the bath with some food, and watch him do his thing while I bathe (I love watching snails eat).
I also keep shallow water bowls in both of my tanks, which they frequently drink from, and often I'll see one or two of them chilling with one half in the water, which is cute.

wow this sounds really coool! I have never tried this with my snails.. fear of them drowning i guess.. but since everyone's apparently doing it and their snailies love it! I want to give it a go! so how should I first introduce them to running water? in the sink or hold them and run the warm water over them? ... does it matter if it goes on their face/head?

How I do it is that I turn my shower on (not full blast, that's too strong for them), get it to a nice luke warm and put my snailies in the bottom of the tub. They'll quite happily play in there for ages, it comes in handy when I need to clean out the tanks. I've done the whole "Hold them over the sink and run water", they liked it but I was scared of dropping them. Samson sticks his head under the running water so I don't think it's a problem . . . then again he's always been a bit odd.

Lol, cool! I have not done it in the shower, but I will turn on the sink sometimes and let them take a shower in a nice little stream of water, and they stretch their necks out into it XD. I hold them in my hand, and sometimes take a little soft toothbrush and wash their shells with the water. Remember, no soap! It can kill them!
