Do snails like being handled? How often should I handle my snails? Do snails like being out of their tank?

I handle all my snails. You will find they become tame with repeated handling and don't retreat back into their shells. I mostly handle mine when they are being cleaned out once a week when they have a bath. Mine seem to enjoy being out of their tank and outside for a run on the lawn in the summer once in a while.

I handle my garden snails every day, even if it's just for a minute or two. I usually place them on some food, so they associate handling with being fed and don't freak out.

yes'm I do that with my new baby margie Horlicks and now she expects food every time I handle her! Maybe is why she tries to eat my hand...

I have a lot of snails ;D so they all get handled once a week at least and I often handle others more than that if they are up and about!

My snails love it when I handle them and so do I!!! Luckily I am not plant material, so I don't get eaten alive while doing so . Just make sure you wash hands before and after handling them. *Especially after handling!*

*and before handling* LOL we are all very safety conscious on here hehe. my snails get handled a couple of times a day if they aren't sleeping and they love baths as well.

Yes, I handle all mine quite a bit, as well. The only ones that I haven't yet handled because they are still very small, are my latest batch of Babies. Don't worry, that your Snails won't like being handled, they do enjoy it, and it's good for both of you to spend some "quality time" getting to know each other.

I find it really relaxing as you can't hurry them to do anything. I reckon they don't mind either 'coz they have a nibble, are in no rush to get anywhere else and I've never had one froth at me yet. I never pick them up by the shells but coax them on and coax them off. The getting them on is easy it's the getting them off that's the difficult bit All this means it takes a while doing the cleaning and feeding but who cares.
