unfortunately it may well be she was eaten. its not nice but if snails die others will often eat them. one of my helix babies i had years ago died and before i could remove it had others eating it. I'm sorry about your baby.

I'm sorry for your loss, birdie. As The Snail Sanctuary said, it happens sometimes. A lot of invertebrates will eat deceased individuals of their own species. It's just part of how Nature works.

it's ok....she was in the egg...late more than month so i didn't hope so much she would have survived...i went there to buy 2 snails and the woman gave me 2 and 7 eggs as present so i'm already happy about my 4 doing ok...thank you anyway, it's nice to know that it is nature at least

I am sorry for your loss too. I was quite surprised to find that cannibalism exists quite frequently with snails. It is natural like you said though so what can you do?
