Hi, My Jade has been seperated now for about two weeks because it has had a mantle tear or mantle collapse. It still has not got any better. It is eating a little but not huge amounts. How long should I keep trying ? Could it be in pain?

I don't think anyone knows for sure if snails with mantle tears or collapses are suffering. A mantle collapse puts pressure on the lung, so breathing is probably difficult. As to how much pain is involved with either condition, no one seems to know. If it was my snail, if it was still eating, even a little, I'd let it be and remain hopeful. There are some guidelines here: www.petsnails.co.uk/problems/mantle_collapse.html#startSorry about your snailie. Sending lots of magickal mantle-healing rays your way ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
