Okay, so Im a bit curious, is there any pet that you REALLY would like to have, but cannot have? Either due to their required care of because of the law? I have to admit that there are probably a tons of animals like that, that I want xD But favorite number one is, a SKUNK They are so cute, but unfortunately, illegal as pets in Sweden Wish there was a way to get some kind of well, special permit to keep one lol Other than that, legal pets that Id love to have would be an green iguana or some other big dinosaur looking lizard But alas, they are to big and would require too big tanks witch most likely would have to be handmade and well, Im not really a good with building stuff xD. Not to nemtion how hard it must be to heatup and keep a big tank moist enough

African spurred tortoise, Geochelone sulcata. They are legal and are indeed possible to aquire but their enormous size require a farm or a really big yard. The day i move out of the city I will definitly get one.
A galapagos tortoise would definetly be number one on my wishlist but I'm pretty sure I'll never be able to get one of thoose...

Yes, keeping a lion properly fed would be problematic, to say the least. That's why I will only dream about having one, and not try to get one for real. Actually, it is easier than you would think to get one, due to a huge black market for exotic pets. A few months ago Mr Coyote and I went to the open house at the Performing Animal Welfare Society in Galt, California. Ever since I first heard about this organization I've wanted to visit, but I never knew they held open houses until just this year, so in spite of the dauntingly long drive there I was excited to go. PAWS began by rescuing exploited and mistreated animals in the entertainment industry, but now they have more animals rescued from backyard breeders and drug dealers. There is a huge black market for exotic animals, and it is heartbreaking how mistreated they are -- botched declawing procedures, malnourishment and starvation, grossly unsanitary conditions, inbreeding, etc. It made my blood boil to hear of the horrible conditions from which most of these creatures were rescued. At least they can now live their lives in peace and safety at that sanctuary, well cared for by staff and volunteers who put the animals' health and well-being above all else. They had rescued bears, tigers, lions, a leopard, a mountain lion, a macaque, a bunch of capuchins, a couple of bobcats, and a housecat that just decided to hang around the place. They have a separate sanctuary elsewhere for their elephants and over 30 more tigers, all very well cared for, at last.

Wow... yeah its such a shame that animals is being so illtreated, just as if they are some kind of shoes that you can toss away whenever you want =/

An Elephant But of course, it wouldn't fit in the house xD Smaller animals, i'd realy like a Gecko of some sort. Soo cute. Ir a Spring spaniel, but we might be getting one of those anyway, so that doesn't count xD Katie x

Captive bred iggie, they are lovely, but only if I had like a whole room to make into a tank for it, or i'd feel rotten. Old english sheepdog, ever since I was little I've loved them, so fluffy and cute A vegan dragon, now that'd be awsome ;D

i'ld really want a DRAGON! (i don't think there is a law against it...) or a fire lizard (the anne mccaffery sort) (i appreciate a dragon anne mccaferry sort wouldn't be a pet, but still it would be fantastic!!!) or a dog sized tardigrade - also not really going to happen! a (tame) herbivorous dinosaur (rideable triceratops maybe?) - i'm not couting extanct birds in this... ohhhh CASSAWARY! that would be COOL! ( i do want ducks one day, once i have a house of my own ) being incredibly boring a horse! infact a specific horse from riding. but without magically getting more time and money and training in care and fighting off the current owner thats highly unlikely.

Haha triceratops are my favorite among the veggie dinos xD Other than that, velociraptors would be cool xD Maybe not something youd cuddle with if you want to still have your limbs intact

velociraptors - well they're only the size of turkeys (jurassic park got carried away) so not too bad ;D - aslong as you dont have a pack (or should that be flock?) of them, cut the claws trim the teeth and i bet the feathers would be pretty (they're fairly sure they were feathered now) so if you get one let me know what it looks like

A dragon sounds cool. ;D How about a unicorn? You'd have to be willing to spend some time each day polishing its horn, though. That's a big commitment.

nah, unicorns are just horses that come to a point. Don't get me wrong, I love horses as a spceis, but the idea of having one does not appeal. Unless it was a tiny little dog sized one I know what I want more than anything, although suspect Dusk will be the only one to get this without heavy googling. I want the luggage! now THAT'D be awsome. Cleans your laundry, eats people who attack you and lots of room for all the snail stuff. perfect

And as if wanting a non-existant creature wasn't enough of a barrier I'd also want a blue dragon, which isn't an option since I'm female. I could go on forever about just the real animals I'd like and can't have (put it this way, blue whale is on the list) and adding fictional ones would make it even longer! But realistically both my boyfriend and I (mainly him actually) would love to have bats. One day it might actually be possible, I'm not sure of the legal situation but we'd be going for egyptian fruit bats which aren't endangered and are bred in captivity, so it might not be completely out of the question. First though we'd need space to build them an aviary.

When I was a kid I went through a phase where I wanted a pet skunk. When I heard about de-scented skunks I pestered my parents for one, almost worse than when I wanted a pony! ;D But that phase passed. I'm quite happy now with my snails and my kitty. Although I keep on thinking about getting a rat some day . . .

I'd love chinchillas, or ferrets. Ferrets are unlikely because apparently they're not good with cats and I think cats will always be the priority with my other half. I took care of both when I worked for the RSPCA and they were both amazing.
