Let's use this topic instead of a new poo topic.
Noticed this now with my new leopards. They don't even appear to need the fish food to poop white poops... Lol, I'm really not poo-obsessed, but every time I see this appear in my tanks it makes me wonder what is going on inside those slugs. My leatherleaves/poffertjes don't appear to have white poops at all.
Malacophile, have you noticed white poop from your slugs? Do you have any ideas on what is causing it? Might my guano theory be getting somewhere?

i get white poo from my snails but it's usually when they've been on the calcium and it usually dries and becomes crumbly like the limestone flour is that a possiblilty with your guys?

Possibly someone with a lot of snails that wants to could do an experiment, like separate the snails and feed one snail a protein-rich diet, one a calcium-rich diet, etc. etc. and see which produce the most white poo stuff?

However, I have caught them munching cuttle bone and calcium citrate powder when they thought I wasn't looking. Maybe some of yours are doing the same?

There's no cuttlefish in their tanks, which would explain! Ima gonna stop feeding fish food to a few tanks for a while to see what happens... my leopards are separated to 4 tanks already to avoid self-harming by tail-eating that seems to be a stress reaction following personality clashes.
The white poo is never formed in droppings like normal poo is, but is kind of soft paste like toothpaste emerging slowly from under the mantle when the sluggy rests. It does dry into similar consistency as snail cuttle poo though. So bizarre!

The L. maximus I caught are making white poops! I've never seen my other slugs do this at all, so I'm thinking it's something unique to the biology of this species. They have no calcium source, they haven't eaten anything white and I haven't given them protein since the day I found them. They also haven't eaten eachother, because they're all still there. I don't think it could be anything they ate before I found them, either, because I've had them for around a week and a half now. Whatever they munched should be long gone from their systems, I would think. Here's a pic:

Hi malacophile , My Leopards don't poop like that at all, the picture looks more like a smear or some sort of slime trail. Leopards do need calcium though as they still have a small interior shell which if you feel around the top of their head area you will locate it, which is a left over bit of shell from evolving from snails. They also need protein. My Leopards will poop white when they have mushroom and cucumber but not like the picture you posted so I am not sure what is going on there. Wish I could help you with this one. Vallery

My snails seem to spend about a third their sleeping time on the ceiling, which collects its share of poop. It's just part of what snails do. They'll poop on the walls and on the substrate too, wherever they happen to be when it's time to poop.
