I have some Fuli hatchlings no bigger than a pea. How big is recomended before handling? X taa

i always let my snails get to 1-1.5cm shells before i handle them

I do pick mine up much younger than that, but only if necessary. I think it depends on how steady your hand is, and what method of picking them up you use. For tiny babies I nudge their feet to encourage them to loosen their grip, and then gently scoop them up, but then again I use this method with older ones too - don't want to be pulling them off something by their shells as this may cause a mantel tear.. You could scoop them up with a bit of lettuce if you didn't wish to use your fingers. I don't hold them by their shells at this age, far too easy to crack them, but I guess others with surgeon-steady hands may perhaps do this easily?
