Hi there, it's not exactly a snail page, but I have revised my Neopilina page and would like to know what you think. Neopilina is a so called living fossil, between higher Molluscs (Conchiferans) and more archaic Molluscs, such as chitons and aplacophorans... www.weichtiere.at/english/other/tryblidia.htmlKind regards Robert

cool site! i must do some more exploring of it, really wish we'd done more of molluscs at uni other than the basics. i love that you have a page of chitons - love those little guys! one thing if in the top frame you can click on the picture of a chiton rather than the name. if you do that then the page opens in the top frame - which is obviously not where you want it to open! looking good! ;D

Hi muddydragon,
thanks a lot for that information (nobody tells me anything...). I already corrected the error (and some more I found when doing so...).
Have a nice evening and kind regards Robert

What an interesting creature. It does indeed look limpet-like. Is it known what they eat?

I'm impressed with the whole site. It's well written. Do you have plans to ever publish a book on molluscs in English?

Hi there, there is the original Galathea report and it talks of "Xenophyophores (Protozoa, Sarcodina) in the diet of Neopilina galatheae", meaning amoeboid monocellular organisms. So Neopilina feeds on protozoa. Kind regards Robert PS: I got another one: I translated (at last) my page on the evolution of the mollusc shell. Perhaps this might interest you too. PPS: Concerning a book: I just wrote one in German*), it was very difficult to find an editor. I would think it even to be harder for an English book, as I am no native speaker and I do not think my English is good enough, as friendly and tolerant you may be... But this homepage will remain and it will grow and grow and grow.... ;D *) The translation of the title is: "Native land snails in the terrarium".
