I came home tonight to a bit of a shock, One of my snails has totally come out of his shell. I have never seen it before, the snail seemed totally unfaised be it but i was totally shocked. Its Shell was laying on the bottom of its tank. I gently lifted it out of the tank an eased it back into its shell, but i think it is going to come back out again. Have you any advice please. I will add more pictures. Sorry if they are in different messages. *Renamed by CroSSLeSS*SEARCHmantle_collapse Attachments:

My snail placed on a clean tray, then gently eased her back into its shell. But it has came back out of its shell.I am wondering if it is just best to place it into a container and freeze her. i think that will be the most humane thing to do ? what do you think? Attachments:

I'm really sorry about this, its such an awful thing to have happen. I have to be honest, a snail can't survive like this, and theres no way that i know of for them to reattatch the shell. I hate to have to say this, but your only real options i can think of are to seperate her from the others and let nature take its course, or put her to sleep. I don't know which would be less unpleasant for her, i'd see what the others say. For now keep her in a humid tank on her own. I really am so sorry this has happened *hug*

I'm so sorry about your snail, tony. This is something that happens occasionally, and there is nothing that can be done, because the snail cannot survive out of its shell.

Hi seanny, welcome to the forum. Sorry about your snail's problem. What part of its body is the goo coming out of? Or is it from generally all over the snail? Does it look like mucus or slime, or different from that? Is it possible to get a pic of it (that might help us figure out what is going on)?
