I'm so sorry if this is somewhere on the website but I haven't found it as of yet. I'm also sorry that we're dealing with 2 different types here but they're both very similar & I'm not sure which one my little guy is at the moment, I'm assuming though being so alike & both being British snails who live in around the same places their diets aren't much different.
My guy has been feeding on the same as my other snails, they get a good variety & he seems especially keen on carrots but I want to know if this is enough or do they have any sort of special dietary needs? Sorry if this seems like a silly question but I don't want to cause any harm by not doing something proper. I know a lot of people here own garlic snails so hoping someone can help.
Thank you so much xx

In my experience, oxychilus need more than just veggies in their diet -- I've given mine fish flakes, soaked cat kibble, aspersa eggs, various raw seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, etc.). I've even left deceased aspersas and otalas in the tank for them to scavenge on. After a few days the shells are clean and completely empty. (The long, thin body of oxychilus lends itself to getting inside the shells to access the remains.)

Thank you so much, so glad I asked this now. I have fish flakes, cat kibble, pumpkin & sunflower seeds nearly all the time so he'll always have at least one of those. I'll have to try & get some aspersas then he'll have the eggs & dead bodies too even if it takes a while, seeing as I'm planning on trying to find more of these too, thank you for answering me, you've really helped.

I suspect any (unwanted) snail eggs would be fine, not just aspersa eggs. I keep aspersas, so there are aspersa eggs available from time to time. I dig them out of the substrate and leave them on top, where uneaten ones will dry out before being able to hatch. Good luck with your Oxychilus! I hope we can see pics soon.

I'm getting some adult fulicas in the next week or so which have laid so hopefully should get some eggs from those to give him. I gave him pumpkin & sunflower seeds last night, he eats really well. Thank you so much for the suggestions, you've been really helpful. I will post some pics very soon
