well, i also live in california, and i know that i can go outside and catch as many helix aspersas as i want. you can choose to take snails from the wild, but in my opinion, i wouldnt take adult or semi adult helix aspersas from the wild because they have spent their lives outside, and they should stay outside.(that is just my opinion though, u can find threads descussing whether or not you should take snails from the wild) i think it is ok to take baby snails or "toddler snails" from the wild because they are just starting out life and could spend their life in captivity. i would give you some snails for free (but you would pay for post). i breed and sell helix aspersa to some people that would rather have captive bred snails than take them from the wild. i am expecting a fresh batch of eggs from a air of my snails because i caught them mating a little while back. or, i have some 3 month old snails that i aquired from a friend that had helix aspersa eggs. if you would like to get some snails from me, then just PM me and we can work something out. if you choose to take some snails from the wild, it is your decision what size of snail you wish to obtain. best wishes

no, i live pretty far away from there, and i still have some snail orders to fill, so i will have to get back to u on that. hopefull i will be seeing some eggs soon, or i may be out of buisness. lol, i still have two three month old snails that arent selling because everybody wants younger snails, and about 5 4month old snails, so if three month old snails are ok with you, or the 5 month old snails, then i can give you them for free (with postage cost) if that is ok with u. here are some pics of on one of my three month old snails i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj115/whodoesntlovesnails/Photo44.jpgi270.photobucket.com/albums/jj115/whodoesntlovesnails/Photo47.jpgi270.photobucket.com/albums/jj115/whodoesntlovesnails/Photo56.jpgmy other snail is on hold right now, so if you want, u can either take one of the three month old snails, and as many of my four month old snails as you want, or you can also wait for the eggs, but that could take some time waiting for them to hatch. you can decide. they are all in great condition, but one of my three month old snails has a small dent in its shell from when he fell off the top of the container. he is fully healed now. -miley
