What are your views on people buying snails from honest sellers to sell them on for profit even though that person tells you they will be staying with them for life and resells with no consideration for the snail?
I think it is discusting and shouldn't be allowed to happen could i have your oppinions on this,
It has been proved to kill some species but there is people still doing it.

Acquiring anything through deceit is to be frowned upon - but turning a profit on a purchase is just one of those things? Alot of the species Ive supplied Ive watched people sell on either at a loss or profit, just one of those things? Nature of free trade.
This confused me though... Proven to kill some species? Explain.

This confused me though... Proven to kill some species? Explain. Perhaps pleurdonteisabella means Tiger snails? They don't do well with being shipped around a lot, do they? I don't think that there is anything wrong with buying to sell, as long as you've not lied about it. That's the way trade works. Specifically with snails (and of course all other animals traded for profit) in mind the only thing wrong would be someone not taking appropriate care of their little charges. As long as the seller knows how to keep them healthy and happy and does not lie to their suppliers I see no problem.

Dont think thats necessary Lee. I see no uncivil comment, and thus far the opinion is comfortably split.
Alot of people feel in some way wronged when they see stock theyve sold being sold on at a profit - unfortunately this is just a natural reaction. Youre bound to feel somewhat cheated. In that instance however the only person who did any wrong was the initial seller for not better valueing thier own livestock.
The "proven to kill" comment is just plain daft. A well packed shipping enclosure will see any species out for its journey. Ive seen some very delicate species travel a long way for a long time without any noticable health effects. People should not use statment of fact to air misgiven opinions.
Achatina achatina as a species incidentally travel really very well. Its more getting thier enclosure just right once theyve arrived thats a necessity.
Trading will always be a bone of contention for some - its good to have a healthy debate then move on. If you get hung up on a bad experience for too long, it spoils the hobby for you, which is never worth it.

I simpy call it cruelty to animals A comment like this makes little enough sense when its placed in context - let alone in this thread. Keep it ontopic.

i only see a problem in this if the snails are posted 3 or more times in a small amount of time, most of the species we keep wouldnt be here if they hadnt been imported at some point and then sold on for us to keep as pets
