I really don't know what it is and what happened to the damaged horn but I'm quite sure the snail can clearly see with that eye. The swelling looks really unnatural like something is inside the horn. It seems that it's painful for snail to stretch out that horn, most time the horn is drawn in. What can it be and what should I do?

it's perfectly normal. they do some pretty wierd stuff with their eyestalks including that and putting a 90 degree kink in them all sorts of stuff that looks terrible but isn't, i wouldn't worry. just keep on eye on it and see if it gets more swollen.

My April does that loads, and the 90 degree thing as well, its nothing to worry about, leave it a day or two and the stalk will probably be fine

Okay, now I'm worried. Now it's teo times more swollen and the snail just sits inside her shelf and refuses to come out.

Inside her shelf?
Do you have anything sharp or hard in the tank that the snail could of scratched it's eye on?

I've seen that happen with one of my aspersas, near the base of the eyestalk. The snail seemed fine, and it went away after a few days.

lee2211, no, there were no sharp objects. Anyway, the snail is okay now and the horn is normal. Don't know what that was, but it's gone now =)
