I have started to learn about snails after i fell in love with the common snails we got here in norway, but my first question that i need answered is;
Does snails have feelings? can they feel sad, happy, bored or curiosity?
I figured the snails i see cant be too intelligent, as they keep drowning themselfs in my garden, and they like to sit in the road getting run over by cars...

I believe all living animals / creatures have feelings.
Well I cannot say whether snails are intelligent or not, but that's how snails are, they are pretty slow creatures but very fascinating to me too, of course if you have to compare them with human then it's very different. Obviously I do not see snails as stupid creatures.

I also wonder if there is a big difference in behaviour from snail to snail or across races and types?

To be honest with you, I think snails hold a lot of wisdome if you know how to find it...but new age wisdom aside, those you mentioned aren't a realistic way to judge their intelligence. I think the fact that they can become accustomed to being handled shows great intelligence. They can't help falling in and drowning in your garden because once they fall in they can't swim to get out. They also can't see very well, mostly dark and light as far as I know, so im not surprised they were drawn to the water's moisture only to fall in and not be able to swim out. As for the road, again, they can't see very well, and they don't know they are on a road. So....really, give the little guys a break! It's not like they craw to pools of water and roads on purpose!
