I am interested in getting or already have the following snails:
Achatina Achatina Albino Achatina Fulica Marginata Ovum Immac Panthera Rodatzi Jadatzi
I want to do a mixed tank and wondered which snails would go best together?
If they crossbreed then I can take out the eggs and freeze them. And if I want to breed them I can take the adults out and mate them separately.
Are there any on the list that can go together and not crossbreed?
Thank-you in advance

Jadatzi, Rodatzi and Albino Achatina fulica will all interbreed since they are different forms of the same species. they will not breed with the others however. and all the others will not cross breed with any of the others. I have heard bad things about immacs attacking other snails i think it would be wise to avoid mixing them in. as for taking the adults out to breed seperatly, the snails can store sperm so you could not be certain that the eggs laid were from that particular mating and not a previous one. It is worth noting that jadatzi are just a cross between albino fulica and rodatzi. and you get different forms of jadatzi; albino bodied & yellow shelled - this is what people usually think of when they hear 'jadatzi', but people also refer to the normal shelled albino bodied forms and the yellow shelled dark bodied forms as jadatzi. as for the others living together fulica (either albino, rodatzi or jadatzi) usually adapt well to other conditions, (i have jadatzis living with my margies), hence i would immagine they would do well with A. achatina also, i also suspect that the A. achatina and M. ovum would do well together but i haven't tried this others will know. hope this helps.

I have a fulica and a normal retic in a tank currently.. I was looking into getting some kind of albino as well... I get confused easily though.. could you advise me please would there be an albino of some sort I could put in with them that wouldnt breed with them? Essentially I dont mind if the albino will breed with one of them, as I would be ok with freezing the eggs.. I just thought I would ask about any that wouldnt breed out of interest... if that makes sense? Thank you

@milza86; first tank will be fine together. Can't say about the second as I've no experience with tigers or margies. Hope it works XD cherryblossom; you can get albino varieties of both fulica and reticulata. As far as I know albino retics are simply referred to as "albino retics" and they are beautiful. Albino BODIED fulis are "jades" Albino SHELLED fulis are "rodatzi" Albino shelled AND bodied fulis are "jadatzis" Though as MuddyDragon said; some people use "jadatzi" for any type of albino fuli so make sure you see pictures before buying a jadatzi. There are pictures here; worldofsnails.webs.com/giantafricansnails.htm that should help you get you're head around it XD

If I may add to that...
The reason why people refer to various coloured fulica as jadatzis is because jadatzi is a genetic line of fulica, as is hamillei. Achatina fulica var. hamillei may look like a normal Achatina fulica, but will be carrying the genes for a rodatzi, so hamillei refer to the genetics carried within the normal-looking fulica. Any offspring that have rodatzi colouring from this genetic line will be Achatina fulica var. hamillei f.rodatzi
The jadatzi also refer to a genetic line of fulica. They came about by the mating of an albino bodied fulica (Achatina fulica var. jade - or - Achatina fulica albino form or Achatina fulica f.albino) with a rodatzi (Achatina fulica var. hamillei f.rodatzi). The name of jadatzi came about by a mixture between the two names of jade and rodatzi. Achatina fulica var.jadatzi come in four colours - A.fulica var.jadatzi f.standard refers to the normal fulica colour form from this genetic line. A.fulica var.jadatzi f.rodatzi refers to the rodatzi colour form from this genetic line. A. fulica var.jadatzi f.jade refers to the jade colour form from this genetic line A.fulica var.jadatzi f.construct refers to the white body and rodatzi shell colour form. As mentioned people often refer to the f.construct simply as jadatzi or 'fully albino', but the confusion lies when people refer to the other colours as jadatzi without mentioning their colour form.
I hope that helps.
