As you might remember, I've wanted an albopicta for a long time - hence me getting Jethro who turned out not to be one (which is fine because he's gorgeous). I haven't seen any for homing and I was wondering if they're extremely rare? I'm not fussy about whether I get a baby or an adult, I just would really love an albopicta. Am I waiting in vain and should I give up now?

Out of all the members on here who's listed all they're snails I think only lotsofsnails (Mike) has a snail thats been confirmed as an albopicta, they're very rare in captivity it seems I remember a thread linking to pictures of baby albopicta being kept in France..or Italy? I cant remember the exact thread though. I wouldnt give up waiting for them to become available, they may become available eventually. Found the post

Thanks Kevin I didn't realise how rare they were. Obviously Phebe must have some or there wouldn't have been the confusion over Jethro and his batch-mates. Maybe she's worth a try too. I think I'll try and hold out for an adult off someone this time as they're easily mistaken as babies aren't they?

I thought Mike's came from Phebe too? Or are my wires crossed *lol* If so, then it's probably a mix up like the rest of us - as quite a few of them had red bums, I just missed out on one

There was no plan B, that's what the bummer was *lol*.
My aim is to carry on looking for a companion for Sherman so he can go in with them on their own (he's currently in with horny fulicas and looking sorry for himself *lol*). Sadly that plan's been pushed back a bit by missing out on a margie yet again.
I'm going to email the shop that sells the albino margies and see when they're getting more in (if at all), and to post on classifieds for one when I get paid. Looking for a juvi or adult and might as well hold out for an albino seeing as I can't seem to get hold of a "normal" margie for being dropped out of the running when someone offers to take the "job lot" rather than the measly one Sherman needs for company.
Then I have space for one or two more in with the fulicas and we'll see where that takes me, although I think an albopicta would be pie in the sky.
