Lisa, this isn't going to be very helpful to you I'm afraid because I got my coir blocks online!!! I know you have trouble finding places that takes your card. You could always try ebay, unless anyone else has a suggestion.

You're WHAT?! OMG GIVE IT TO ME! Lol. I LOVE that white on the bottom green on the top matting. It's soooo much better than the crap I had before. I actually found the coir used to dry out too quickly when I used it, but the matting doesn't! Lol. Val, mines shells are nice (I think so anyway ) and they've been on matting since they got here. The shells do look rough, but only a tiny bit and they don't feel it at all. But mine seem to be different to others anyway, so that might not be anything to listen too rofl. An example is what I said about them sealing when it got too dry. Copigeons haven't, but mine did and they probably wasn't even as dry as hers were. My matting doesn't smell.. Strange. My moss does, but the matting doesn't.

Why don't you do what I've done with the moss then? And other people do it with soil.
Put a tub of it in there ontop of the matting.

Lol I aim to please! And yes Cornish Crispa are good. I don't like the postage, but they've had the best prices twice even with the postage lol so it can't be that bad. They phoned me up with my last order too. Phoned and checked if it was ok to send something different as what I bought was out of stock. Most shops just send the other thing anyway without checking!! P.S Sian what a little gem you are I'm not a type of lettuce Rofl. ;D

LOL same here. Although I'm not 100% keen on the matting, as it smells really..erm...what's the word...foisty (sp?), and once there was a very small patch of what I think was mould under where the plant hangs over.

Ps. I do have half moss in my tank, which is another thing I'm not chuffed about (Do it All's sphagnum). It's all tiny little bits rather than strands like the pet shop stuff I used to get. Back onto that methinks.

Yes I hate that too. I bought 2 bags of it an all so I have to use it up lol. I'll be going back to the stuff I got from ebay when it's finished though! It goes a horrible colour after a while too, it's ok when it's washed but soon goes weird again. The other stuff I've used hasn't done that.
My matting smells.. nice lol. That's all I can describe it as rofl.

Hmmm well maybe I should keep them on it because they have been more active. But I'll pick up some coir for the margies. I dont like the matting though because the non-dimis in that tank dont seem to like it much, but I guess it is easier to clean, etc. Maybe I might move them back into their own tank...but the dimis like the company...oh heck, what's a girl to do...

Lol do the tub on the matting thing? Maybe even being in a small amount of coir will show a difference if there is one?
A tub in with the margies might not work so it might be better to just change them too it like you said lol... although Freddie only went under mine once. And the moss didn't fall out as he tipped it towards the back of the tank and only went halfway under it Lol.

I have a pot of soil in my tank, after reading that they need to eat bits of soil Do they really need to eat bits of soil? I changed everything and not using soil anymore. I just don't like them to get too messy. I still got the whole bucket of organic soil. Was going to throw them away, but looks like I have to put a pot of soil in if they have to eat bits of soil.

Can you show a pic of your dimis and I will get a pic of mine so you can see what I mean. Val

well mines on capillary matting now and he's much more active, although not eating much but its a start ive got 100 babies on capillary and it gets so dirty cus with coir the faeces sorta goes into the substrate and kinda rots in but with the capillary it gets so dirty. but i think its rather good, it keeps the humidity at the right levels which means active snails .
