WC or CB?
If those are the ones you wrote about in another threat I wonder about shipping at this time of the year. I know megas are hardy snails, but must they really be shipped in winter?
Isn't the whole idea contra productive to your idea of breeding megalobulimus in captivity and releasing them later? I don't really believe that will work, but wouldn't the first step be leaving them where they are?

Well, good luck then. I just read about this "problem" in another forum and can understand your motives now. I wish you all the best with your program.
The temperature problem still remains.
You might at least want to wait until next year when the temperatures are better to send the snails on to your buyers.
I would be lying if i said I'm not interested, but I'm worried about shipment at this time of year.

If I may add to the thread.... Eric was pretty much held to ransome from this supplier, who told him that the snails would be sold at the same price to shell collectors if he didn't buy them. Therefore if he didn't purchase them they would be killed. Being as live snails are better off than dead Eric bought some. I can confirm that this was discussed, and we looked at the pros and cons.
The general feeling is that although people in principal shouldn't buy under balck-mail like this, and this type of selling is dispicalble, Megalobulimus are very precious as they are fast being wiped out in the wild, and it seems terrible not to save them.
I'd like to say on behalf of Eric, if i may, that he has not taken the decision lightly and has done what he feels best under the circumstance. He was put in a very awkward situation.
I'll open up a topic about this type of black-mail selling.
