Arfur the Snail I rescued after he'd been run over by a brat on a bike. He'd lost all the front of his shell & his lung was exposed although his little body was still attached to his shell. I took him home and looked after him But I wasn't hopeful. Today he let me tickle his nose & chin, he can't retract cos he's got no shell to hide under, well he wrestled a piece of cucumber & fish flakes of me & ate with gusto. I'm so pleased coz he's a little character. I'm hoping with lots of calcium his shell will heal & even regrow at the front

I'm so glad he seems to be doing well. Keep up the good work, and let us know how he's doing!

Arfur today left hospital & he has gone to live with my other garden snails. I've noticed he's made a friend. I caught him scoffing sweet potato last nite & then he was sliming about SO after making sure his injuries had healed enuff I took the plunge & moved him. He's an amazing & adorable little chap & I feel privileged to have been able to help him
